Farming for Adults with Disabilities 

Cleveland Crops is an urban farm that employs adults with disabilities, teaching them invaluable skills and contributing to sustainable food development in the process. This story hit close to home, first, because Cleveland is my hometown, and second, because my dad is an adult living with a traumatic brain injury that left him permanently disabled. I witness first-hand the lack of resources available for people living with disabilities, and I am grateful organizations like this exist!

I love learning more about herbs. This post from The Paleo Mama provides a list of ten herbs that will do you good, mentally, physically, and emotionally.


Body Dysmorphia

I found a new kindred blogger friend in Kelly. I relate to so many of her posts, which have a focus on the difficulty in living a balanced life (especially for those of us with a history of EDs). This post about body dysmorphia really resonated with me. Kelly writes on a feelings too many people (usually women) know all too well: “The emotions I most closely associate with body dysmorphia are fear, hypersensitivity, and fatigue.  I’m constantly nervous about being “outed” as a fat lady, and every curve, roll, wrinkle, or scar becomes a huge trigger, and I fixate on it to the exclusion of nearly anything else until something distracts me, or I get so tired, I have to let it go.” She ends the post with some great tools to confronting those days when you are feeling overwhelmed with dysmorphia. If you can relate, I recommend bookmarking it for times you’re experiencing that struggle.

Cauliflower Scramble

I love the taste of tofu scramble but I don’t always love eating soy, so I was stoked to find this genius recipe for cauliflower scramble on Vegan Yack Attack. Same great flavors, more veggies, no soy. Win!
