Happy Wednesday! I thought I’d do a quick “What I Ate Wednesday”-inspired post and show you a bunch of stuff I’ve been eating lately. I decided to a do an 8-day long CLEAN program week to help reset my system after weeks of moving (and other) stress. My diet and self-care went out the window the past month or so, so it was very important to me to get back into a routine once school started. The CLEAN program is actually pretty simple as far as cleanses go. It requires that you eliminate processed foods, wheat, dairy, sugar, etc. And with those parameters, have meals that follow a formula of liquid/solid/liquid. This has meant a lot of juices for breakfast, a lot of grains and veggies for lunch, and a lot of smoothies or pureed soups for dinner. Here’s a sample of what some of this has looked like!

Green juice! (kale, spinach, lemon, ginger, green apple, parsley):

Tahini quinoa with beets and greens:

Delicious turmeric lemony quinoa with zucchini and greens (recipe forthcoming!):

Pumpkin carob smoothie (recipe forthcoming!):

This new job has gotten me really good at prep. I feel very adult. Having a grad student schedule meant I didn’t have to do a ton of prep. But now, I pack my lunches the night before and even cut up all my juicing ingredients so they are ready to go! #grownupthings

What have you been enjoying in your belly lately?

Good to see you back fairly regularly! And good for you with all the prep. I’m not as good as I wish I were with it. It’s hard to make the time! The cauliflower soup sounds great and I can’t wait for the carob smoothie recipe.
Hope you are settling in well and happily!

If I hadn’t finished all my quinoa while I was up at college I would be digging into it! What a delicious day of eats. :) Recently I’ve been loving a few of my homemade cinnamon rolls. Having a treat once in a while is really nice. :) (Btw, I can’t wait for your carob pumpkin smoothie recipe — I love carob!)
