Vegan Pizza Night

Happy Monday, everyone! I thought I’d spend today’s post sharing some pictures and recipes from the vegan pizza night I attended last night. My friend EG hosts “Queer Vegan Dinners” once a month, each with a different theme, and last night it was all about the ‘za.

Here is our happy hostess with the mostess:

Action shot!:

Here are two versions of the pizza before they went in the oven. The first is EG’s whole wheat pizza crust with homemade vegan sausage, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The one on the right is the gluten-free pizza I made using Liz’s quinoa crust recipe, topped with cashew cheese from dollyandoatmeal. It turned out really really good, and I recommend both recipes!

Cashew cheese close-up:

And the whole wheat version with black olives:

And here’s my friend Timothy with EG’s cat, Stan.

Do you ever have theme food nights with friends? What’s your favorite vegan pizza recipe? What’s your favorite pizza topping?

I think everyone must have pizza on the brain just now,,, I’m working on a GF Socca “pizza” just now. Experimenting with it for dinner tonight!

It’s been too long since I’ve had friends over for dinner or a potluck, need to sort it out!!

I made the rinotta recipe Rae Rae shared and then added a bit of olive oil and some nutritional yeast for extra pizzaz. Perfect pizza with pizzaz…Dorothy Zbornak style.

Also want to thank my friends Fred and Sen who dumpstered a 17 lb can of Muir Glen tomato paste, which was the inspiration for pizza party. We still have enough sauce for about 5 more pizza parties…who’s in?
