Happy, happy Friday! I’m about to catch a plane to Cleveland to see my wonderful family for the holidays! Because of that, I imagine things will be pretty sparse around here until after the New Year. Of course, I couldn’t not do a FF before Christmas, so enjoy this festive list!
(And then be sure to stop by the veggie nook for Healthy Vegan Fridays, where my raw snowball cookies are featured this week! Thanks, Gabby!)
A very merry holiday season to you all! <3
1. Lemon-Pistachio Wreaths
How cute are these raw lemon-pistachio wreaths from the Nouveau Raw blog? SO cute, right? What a wonderful holiday treat idea! And free of refined-sugar and gluten!
2. 13 Resolutions to Change the Food System in 2013
This article on Common Dreams lays out some ideas to improve the food system. It’s sort of a nice reminder that as many of us plan personal health and eating goals for the new year, there are much bigger, systemic issues to think about: “As we start 2013, many people will be thinking about plans and promises to improve their diets and health. We think a broader collection of farmers, policy-makers, and eaters need new, bigger resolutions for fixing the food system–real changes with long-term impacts in fields, boardrooms, and on plates all over the world.” Read it for some pretty solid suggestions.
3. Meditation Benefits
Meditation is something I wish I did more. When I did the 21-day meditation challenge over the summer, I really felt a lot of the benefits listed in this great graphic. Sometimes it seems like it’s harder to get a routine going during the busy times of the year (like the holidays), but I actually think this is the perfect time to start up meditation. We need it most when we’re stressed and frazzled!
4. Chai Spiced Hot Chocolate
This raw, vegan hot chocolate sounds like the perfect-est beverage for Christmas morning. <3
5. (more christmas jams)
Two weeks ago I gave you Mariah. Last week was wall-of-sound holiday glory. And today, I bring you:
Are you traveling at all for the holidays? What are you gifting? What are you hoping you’ll be gifted? If you were going to feature three Christmas songs on a blog, what would you choose?
(All I want for Christmas….is for you to share your reader love in the comments!)
