Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. If your weekend was at all similar to mine, you may have over indulged a bit while watching football last night. Remember how I said in my last post that I thought I would understand the game more after watching “Friday Night Lights?” It was so true! I totally got it, and, turns out, it’s waay more fun to watch when you have a clue as to what’s going on. ;)
Anyway, I did eat more than usual and certainly indulged in things from which I tend to abstain—-namely, sugar, gluten, and soy. (I also made parsnip nut butter fries from Oh She Glows. Also: see how tough I am?)
To bounce back from that, this morning I did a great strength training workout and later this evening I’ll attend my Vinyasa flow class. And of course, I had my favorite restorative green juice!
However, because I know that not everyone has a juicer and that more folks have blenders, I want to post a recipe for a green smoothie that will also give you a great start to your week (regardless of weather or not you watched football and ate too much!).
This was one of my favorite smoothies to make while on my last cleanse, but I never got around to posting the recipe.
Cashew Cream Green Mango Smoothie
1/2 c frozen mangos
2 T cashews
1/2 c almond milk
1-2 ice cubes
1/2 t vanilla
1 T protein powder (optional)
baby spinach (as much as you can pack in there!)
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Drink. Feel like superman superwoman superperson.

If only I hadn’t eaten all of my frozen mango….. Is there any other frozen fruit that would work well?
I bet peaches would work! Let me know how it is if you try it! : )
Yes! I love this. About how much spinach do you use? I can pack 5 cups if I try. I’m thinking 1 is more reasonable? Thinking of trying this out tonight.
Yeah, probably about 1 cup. I have to remember most people have large blenders, not small magic bullet (knock offs). Hope you like it. : )
